Rubber bushings will deteriorate just sitting on the shelf due to ozone in the air. I keep all my extra rubber parts in plastic bags with rubber lubricant in them and I press out
all the air I can.
Once every year or so, fill a spray bottle with rubber lube and soak the exposed surface of the bushings on the car the best you can. Let it just drip off.
That is why New Old Stock Bushings may not be any better than new production bushings.
James.

I have some upper control arms that I installed new. Old Stock bushings in 10 years ago. Never installed on vehicle, bushings are now showing cracks.
Another great place to try would be Northwestern Auto Supply in Grand Rapids Michigan. They used to have warehouses of exactly this sort of thing. No body parts, just mechanical
stuff. And they used to have only NOS. I don’t know how much they have left.
Hi Micke –
I never heard of FCRC Machine. Do they have a website ?
I never bought bushings from Rare Parts. The ones presently on the car were installed 20+ years ago. Not sure if they have
the jagged surface that you describe.
Ron
Have you checked with Fcrc Machine?
I bought from him when Rare Parts showed out of stock. I have bought a lot from him and everything has worked very well, however read others who expressed dissatisfaction.
A question for you regarding bushings. What experience do you have in replacing your originals with newly manufactured ones?
For Rare Parts of good repute, I see that the inner sleeve lacks its jagged surface against the mount, which the originals do have, any problem here?

I think I contacted them already. The Search feature on their website is hit or miss. They don’t update their database as
parts get sold. So you end up calling them, only to find out that the part was sold months ago.

AMS Obsolete shows them in stock.
Hey Everyone –
I’m looking for Upper Control Arm bushings. Original Mopar #1636041. But I’m looking for vintage NOS or NORS, not modern stock. My experience with
aftermarket suppliers (Bernbaum, etc) is that the rubber cracks and falls out. I have less than 5K on mine and they need to be replaced. The only modern supplier that I would buy from, Rare Parts, has been out of stock for a while. Also, my research shows
that NORS Moog BR14 would work.
So any suggestions for a parts supplier that would have these ?
Thanks,
Ron
