My '59's summer afliction is back (It's already in the mid 90s here in Southern Nevada.) When the sun heats up the dashboard, the base of the dash mounted rearview mirror becomes loose and the mirror flops around when I turn corners. I felt under the dash and discovered the base nut is tight. The cylinder shaped piece protruding downward seems to have a slot in it. Do I use a large flat blade screw driver to turn this piece to tighten the base? I don't want to break anything or distort the dash board. Any suggestions?
