While I don't have any experience w/ poly's, here's a general observation. A fuel problem isn't normally RPM related. In other words, an engine needs more fuel at a given RPM to travel uphill at highway speeds than to run at that RPM while parked in the driveway. If the problem is occurring at exactly the same RPM regardless of conditions, I would look at ignition.
