I’m getting ready to rebuild the 354 in my 57 Windsor, and have acquired all the parts to convert it to a hemi. Questions are these: Do I order rebuild parts (such as cam, gaskets) for a ‘56 354 or a ‘57 392? I’ve heard of 354s being bored to accept 392 pistons; a seemingly reasonable .060 overbore. There certainly seems a better piston & rings selection available for the 392, but how does the deck height work out? I’d figure it out myself, but I cant find accurate comparative block, stroke, rod length and piston measurements. Any of you guys done this before?
