Start with the pitman arm coming out of the bottom of the steering box. Do like jessica says and have someone jog the wheel back and forth while your hand is on the rod. watch the steering wheel. Does it look like it's moving withe the pitman arm? If not you may just have to adjust the steering gear. this is adjusted with the slotted bolt coming out of the top of the gearbox. turning it clockwise will tighten the steering and counter clockwise will give you more slop. The shop manual gives you exact instructions on this procedure. Mark
